The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a draft determination proposing to authorize The Uniting Church in Australia National Assembly (UCANA) to collectively acquire insurance. This authorization would enable UCANA and other participants to implement the Uniting Church in Australia National Insurance Program Co-Operation Agreement.

The ACCC's proposal includes a grant of authorization for a period of six years. This move is aimed at facilitating better insurance arrangements for the church's participants.

The ACCC is currently seeking submissions from the public regarding this draft determination. Interested parties are encouraged to provide their feedback by Friday, 20 March 2026, before the ACCC makes its final decision on the matter.

Further details about the application process and how to submit feedback can be found on the ACCC's public register.
