The CNMC has reviewed a ministerial order amending the regulation on metrological control of certain measuring instruments, focusing on gas meters and electric vehicle charging stations. The proposed changes aim to reduce information asymmetry in commercial transactions and ensure compliance with national and international regulatory frameworks.

The recommendations include justifying exclusions for certain gas meters, considering including LNG dispensers in the regulation, and evaluating the economic impact of the regulations on electric vehicle charging stations, including costs and requirements for bidirectional charging systems.

The CNMC can intervene either on its own initiative or upon request from various entities, ensuring compliance with competition principles and international commitments.
