G7 Competition Summit in Rome to Focus on Artificial Intelligence

Delegations from G7 countries and the EU Commission will gather in Rome to discuss competition policy in the era of artificial intelligence.


The G7 Competition Summit is set to take place on October 3 and 4 at the AGCM headquarters in Rome, with 35 delegates expected to attend from Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Commission.

The closed-door working sessions will delve into horizon scanning, enforcement activities, policy, and regulatory issues, all centered around the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the economy and society.

Antitrust Chairman Roberto Rustichelli highlights the summit as a crucial opportunity for member countries to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and establish a unified vision on competition policy in the AI era, emphasizing Rome's role as a hub for international dialogue and cooperation.
