The International Competition Network (ICN) Technologist Forum convened in Washington, D.C., to facilitate international cooperation among competition authorities in enforcing competition law in digital markets. The forum aimed to address the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements, particularly in areas like AI, and to ensure that markets remain open and competitive. Andreas Mundt, President of the Bundeskartellamt and ICN Chair, highlighted the importance of sharing experiences and best practices to strengthen competition law enforcement globally. The forum, organized by the ICN's technologist group and hosted by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, emphasized the need for agencies to enhance their technological capacities to protect competition and consumers.
