The Polish Competition Authority (UOKiK) issued Decision No DKK-228/2026 on October 22, 2026, approving the merger between Ackermans & van Haaren NV, based in Antwerp, Belgium, and Grieg Aqua AS, located in Bergen, Norway. The merger allows Ackermans & van Haaren NV to jointly control Grieg Aqua AS alongside Gaia Holdco AS, also based in Bergen.

This decision was made following an antitrust investigation initiated at the request of Ackermans & van Haaren NV. Notably, the authority opted not to provide a detailed justification for the decision, as it fully aligned with the request of the parties involved and did not address any disputed interests or result from an appeal.

According to the applicable laws, parties have the right to appeal this decision to the District Court in Warsaw within one month of its delivery. The appeal process may incur a fixed fee of 1000 PLN, although exemptions may apply for parties demonstrating insufficient financial means.
