The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) has initiated an investigation into the asphalt market, focusing on certain companies suspected of engaging in prohibited cooperation. This investigation follows inspections conducted at the premises of these companies, which are part of the FCCA's efforts to ensure compliance with competition laws.

It is important to note that the inspections carried out under the Competition Act do not imply that the companies involved have committed any illegal activities. Instead, they serve as a preliminary step in the FCCA's investigative process.

The FCCA is expected to release its findings regarding the legality of the companies' practices once the inspections and related investigations are concluded. Until then, the authority has stated that it will not provide any comments on the ongoing investigation.
