The President of the Polish competition authority (UOKiK) has issued new explanations regarding the determination of monetary penalties. These guidelines will be applied when imposing sanctions in cases concerning practices that violate collective consumer interests and unlawful contractual provisions.

The maximum penalty that the President of UOKiK can impose on a business for individual violations is set at 10% of its annual turnover. This significant measure aims to enhance consumer protection and ensure compliance with fair trading practices.
