The Czech competition authority has approved the acquisition of ALCO by AL INVEST, a manufacturer of aluminum products. The transaction also includes L.K.E.-Pivovarská, which is owned by the same parent company. The decision was made without any conditions and is now final.

AL INVEST is part of the MTX Group, which focuses on producing aluminum products such as packaging, foils, and rolled aluminum semi-finished products. These products are used in various industries, including automotive, construction, and printing. The MTX Group is also involved in metal trading, automated machinery production, and coal processing.

ALCO specializes in the ecological recycling of aluminum waste and the production of secondary aluminum raw materials. Its main activities include the purchase, sorting, and processing of aluminum waste, as well as the production of aluminum briquettes, granules, powders, and ingots from recycled aluminum. The other acquired company, LKE, is not active in any market.

The competition authority concluded that the merger would not significantly disrupt competition in the market, allowing the transaction to proceed through a simplified procedure.
