On May 20, 2025, the President of the French Republic appointed Muriel Lacoue-Labarthe to the Board of the Autorité de la concurrence. She replaces Jean-Baptiste Gourdin, who has stepped down to become President of the French national music centre.
Lacoue-Labarthe has an extensive background in competition policy and public service. She graduated from the École nationale d’administration and has held various significant positions, including roles at the Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, and the European Commission.
Her career includes leadership positions in the French Treasury, where she focused on trade policy, economic relations, and financial crime. She has also served on the Board of the European Investment Bank.
The Board of the Autorité de la concurrence consists of 17 members, including judges, professors, and economic leaders, who contribute diverse perspectives during deliberations.
