On December 23, 2024, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) announced its approval of the acquisition of A&M BM Antwerpen by MiSt Invest, part of Group Meeusen. The acquisition was notified to the BCA on December 18, 2024, and the simplified procedure was requested for the review.
Group Meeusen operates as an official dealer for BMW and MINI, with one branch located in Antwerp. Their business includes retail sales of new and used cars, maintenance and repair services, bodywork services, and the sale of spare parts. Similarly, A&M BM Antwerpen is also an official dealer for the same brands, operating two branches in the province and engaging in similar activities.
The BCA noted that the activities of both companies overlap in the Antwerp region across several markets, including retail sales of new and used passenger cars, maintenance and repair services, bodywork services, and retail sales of spare parts for passenger and light commercial vehicles. However, the BCA concluded that the merger does not raise any competition concerns and meets the criteria for the simplified procedure.
