The Polish competition authority, UOKiK, has initiated a project called 'ABC Małego Konsumenta' to educate preschool children about consumer rights and responsible purchasing. This initiative has already reached almost 10,000 children through various educational activities in preschools.
The project offers free educational materials, including lesson plans and online games designed to teach children about consumer choices in a fun and engaging way. Games like 'Sklepowe memo' and 'Na zakupach' help children learn about shopping while enhancing their memory and observation skills.
UOKiK emphasizes the importance of preparing children to make informed decisions as consumers, even at a young age. The project aims to instill knowledge about consumer rights, the significance of receipts, and the process of making thoughtful purchases.
As part of the initiative, preschools can apply to participate and receive necessary materials for conducting lessons. Teachers are trained to use these resources effectively, and children receive small gifts and certificates upon completion of the project.
UOKiK's efforts reflect a commitment to fostering consumer awareness among the youngest members of society, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities as consumers.
