The CMA has provisionally approved the deal between Arçelik and Whirlpool, two major suppliers of domestic appliances in the UK. The CMA conducted an in-depth Phase 2 investigation and found that the deal is unlikely to result in a substantial lessening of competition. The panel considered evidence from various stakeholders and concluded that consumers will continue to have a wide range of choices in the market. The competitive landscape has changed in recent years, with Whirlpool's market position declining and new entrants gaining market share. The CMA will now consult on its findings before reaching a final decision.
