The Czech competition authority, ÚOHS, has granted approval for the merger that allows Pacioli Topco (Jersey) Limited to become the new owner of Grant Thornton Czech Republic s.r.o. The authority concluded that the merger does not raise significant concerns regarding competition in the market.

Pacioli Topco is a special purpose acquisition company controlled by the Eighth Cinven Fund from the UK. The fund's companies are active globally in various business sectors, including auditing, accounting services, tax consulting, and compliance.

Prior to the merger, Grant Thornton CR was solely controlled by Grant Thornton Czech Republic Holding s.r.o., which encompasses several other firms providing accounting, tax consulting, corporate finance, and transaction advisory services.

The approval was granted under a simplified procedure, reinforcing that the merger does not pose any threats to competition.
