The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has granted approval for two acquisitions in the real estate sector through a simplified procedure. The first acquisition involves new investors entering the Savarin project, while the second pertains to Trinity Bank's acquisition of office buildings known as Riverside Karlín.
The Savarin project includes a significant redevelopment of a courtyard adjacent to a baroque palace in central Prague. The project will now be controlled by Savarin HoldCo, s.r.o., and JPTR s.r.o., with new stakeholders from J&T RFI VIII., s.r.o., and PERRARUS HOLDING a.s.
In the second case, Trinity Bank is purchasing five office buildings in Prague from the Austrian company CA Immo under the Riverside Karlín brand. The ÚOHS specifically evaluated the change of ownership of several companies involved in leasing non-residential spaces, primarily administrative offices, as well as some retail and storage areas within the Riverside Karlín complex.
Additionally, the authority ruled that a transaction involving RSJ Estate SICAV a.s. and RPP Holding a.s., which aims to establish a joint venture NJE Development a.s. for a development project in Prague-Chodov, does not require its approval as the merging companies do not meet the turnover criteria set by law.
