The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has launched an investigation into Granolio d.d., a buyer of agricultural and food products, to determine if it abused its strong bargaining power by imposing unfair trading practices on its suppliers. The probe is based on an anonymous complaint alleging violations of the Act on prohibition of unfair trading practices in the business-to-business food supply chain.
The CCA emphasizes that the initiation of the investigation does not imply that unfair trading practices have occurred. The agency will examine the business agreements between Granolio and its suppliers to assess the validity of the allegations and gather concrete evidence before reaching a decision.
Due to confidentiality obligations, the CCA refrains from disclosing details or comments on the ongoing investigation, maintaining a neutral stance until the probe is concluded.
