The Greek Competition Authority (E.A.) has announced its involvement in the DATACROS III project, which is co-funded by the European Union. This initiative focuses on creating artificial intelligence tools designed to bolster cross-border economic investigations targeting organized crime.

DATACROS III leverages advanced technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics. The project aims to utilize new data sources, including public contracts and business registries, to detect corruption and collusion phenomena.

The Greek Competition Authority is particularly focused on employing these technologies to identify collusive practices in public contracts. The project is led by Transcrime – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy and involves 23 European organizations, including competition authorities, anti-corruption agencies, and academic research teams.
