In the first quarter of 2024, Spain experienced a surge in fiber broadband usage, with 87% of fixed broadband lines being fiber-based. Additionally, nearly 17 million fixed broadband lines had speeds of 100Mbps or higher.

Major telecom companies like Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone dominated the market, capturing 70.4% of retail service revenues. Movistar and Vodafone saw a decline in revenues compared to the previous year, while Orange and Grupo MasMovil reported revenue growth.

Regarding mobile telephony, Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone held a combined market share of 68.4%, with 88% of mobile lines connecting to the internet. Mobile broadband traffic reached 2 million Terabytes, marking a 12.2% increase from the previous year.
