The Bundeskartellamt has approved the acquisition of ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH by Hensoldt Holding Germany. The merger between the two defence electronics manufacturers does not raise any competition concerns as they have mainly offered different products and services in the area of security and defence electronics. Hensoldt is a manufacturer of defence electronics hardware, while ESG is a system integrator that develops, integrates, and provides support for third-party electronic systems. The merger parties have already been working together within German FCMS, which was assessed and cleared by the Bundeskartellamt in 2020.
