On 30 September 2025, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) granted approval for Proximus, AG Insurance, and Nationaal Hulpfonds to acquire joint control over Doktr. This decision follows a notification submitted to the BCA on 24 September 2025, where the parties requested the application of a simplified procedure.
Proximus, a leading telecommunications operator in Belgium, currently holds sole control over Doktr, a video consultation service that connects patients with healthcare professionals through secure video calls. AG Insurance operates in the insurance sector, providing both life and non-life insurance products, while Nationaal Hulpfonds is a non-profit organization focused on improving public health through medical-social initiatives.
The BCA's decision indicates that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met, and the merger did not raise any competitive concerns. This approval allows the parties to proceed with their joint control over Doktr, enhancing the service's accessibility and efficiency in the healthcare sector.
