The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has issued a warning against online stores Bestie on the move and Van Halen mode for misleading consumers about long delivery times and product quality due to dropshipping practices.

21.02.2024 | Dutch competition authority

The ACM received complaints from consumers regarding online stores Bestie on the move and Van Halen mode, which primarily sell clothing and use dropshipping from abroad, leading to extended delivery times, quality issues, and difficulties with returns and refunds. The ACM requires online stores to clearly disclose when products are shipped directly from foreign countries and provide accurate delivery times. Failure to do so may mislead consumers and result in negative experiences, as seen in the cases of Bestie on the move and Van Halen mode. The warning aims to protect consumers from deceptive practices in online shopping and ensure transparency in dropshipping operations.
