The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has issued a decision approving the merger proposal by CREDITAS ASSETS SICAV a.s. The merger involves the transfer of part of the operations of ČEZ ESL, s.r.o., which manages the local distribution system (LDS) in Ostrava and its surroundings.

The transaction will occur in several subsequent steps, resulting in CREDITAS ASSETS SICAV a.s. gaining indirect exclusive control over the portion of ČEZ ESL's operations represented by the LDS.

ÚOHS assessed the merger under a simplified procedure and concluded that the merger would not negatively impact competition. The decision has already become legally binding.

The CREDITAS Group, to which CREDITAS ASSETS belongs, operates in the Czech Republic in banking, real estate, healthcare, and energy sectors. In the energy sector, it focuses on the distribution of electricity, gas, heat, and other media for both industrial and residential customers.
