The Italian Competition Authority, known as the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato, has initiated an inquiry into the Federconsorzio and twelve regional consortia involved in the transportation of people in the Dolomiti SuperSki area. This investigation is based on suspicions of anti-competitive practices that violate Article 2 of Law No. 287/1990 and Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
According to the authority, the Federconsorzio appears to have implemented two significant restrictions on competition. The first involves the establishment of ski pass prices among the regional consortia within the Federconsorzio Dolomiti SuperSki. The second restriction pertains to limitations imposed on the regional consortia regarding the sale of their ski passes through third parties.
To gather evidence, officials from the authority, supported by the Special Antitrust Unit of the Guardia di Finanza, conducted inspections at the headquarters of the Federconsorzio Dolomiti SuperSki and the twelve associated regional consortia. This action underscores the authority's commitment to ensuring fair competition in the market.
