The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) and the Autorité de la concurrence have expressed support for the French government's objective of creating an efficient electricity market that safeguards consumers. In a letter sent to the government, they have proposed measures to ensure fair competition between EDF and its competitors and to address potential competition risks arising from the supply conditions for EDF and the long-term allocation contracts for its nuclear production. The draft law on energy sovereignty currently under consultation incorporates some of these proposals.
