The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jointly organized a training seminar in Malaga, Spain, from September 15-18, 2026. This event was part of the Regional Competition Education Center (ROK) initiative, which aims to support competition authorities in Eastern and Southeastern Europe and Central Asia.

Over 40 professionals participated in the seminar, which was co-organized with the University of Malaga and the Andalusian Competition Authority. The training focused on providing comprehensive knowledge of key areas of competition law and insights into the practical daily operations of competition authorities.

During the four-day seminar, 30 employees from 16 competition authorities were trained by 11 experts from both regulatory and academic backgrounds. The main goal was to prepare new entrants from beneficiary countries for the challenges of competition law enforcement.

Participants received practical advice on complex procedural issues, including on-site investigations, merger assessments, and the implications of leniency policies on fine calculations. The ROK has been operational since February 16, 2005, and has organized over 160 events, benefiting more than 6000 experts in the field.
