Live Nation Withdraws Acquisition Notification for Plénitude Arena
The French competition authority will not review Live Nation's acquisition of Plénitude Arena as the transaction no longer meets merger control thresholds.

The French competition authority, known as Autorité de la concurrence, has announced that it will not examine Live Nation's acquisition of Plénitude Arena under merger control. This decision follows Live Nation's withdrawal of its notification filed on June 23, 2026.
The withdrawal is attributed to new thresholds established in Article L. 430-2 of the French Commercial Code, effective from September 1, 2026, which means the transaction is no longer subject to merger control scrutiny.
Live Nation, a US-based group involved in artist promotion and event organization, had initially notified the authority about the acquisition of Plénitude Arena, a major indoor venue in Paris. The authority had conducted several investigative steps, consulting with the parties involved and third parties regarding the potential impact on market competition.
Despite the withdrawal, the Autorité de la concurrence has stated it will remain vigilant about the transaction and its implications for the market. The authority has also expressed the need for a targeted call-in mechanism for mergers that fall below the new thresholds, to address potential competition concerns.
