The Slovak competition authority has issued a notice regarding the extension of the validity and effectiveness of state aid schemes based on EU Regulation No. 651/2014, which is applicable until December 31, 2026.
Entities planning to provide state aid beyond this date must extend the validity of their schemes, allowing for an extension until June 30, 2027. This extension must be executed through amendments to the state aid schemes.
Proposals for amendments, along with the revised state aid scheme, should be sent as soon as possible to the Slovak Antimonopoly Office, which acts as the coordinator for aid, via the provided email address.
It is crucial that the amended state aid scheme becomes valid and effective by December 31, 2026, or it must take effect before this date and become effective on January 1, 2027.
If the amended scheme does not meet these conditions by the specified deadline, the provision of aid will not be possible after January 1, 2027.
Providers of aid and scheme implementers will also be informed of this requirement through a letter from the aid coordinator.
