The Italian Competition Authority has fined Take it slowly by un’altra Sicilia, Sicilying S.r.l., and TICKETSMS S.r.l. a total of 17,500 euro for imposing surcharges on consumers for the use of certain payment instruments in violation of the Consumer Code. The companies charged consumers additional fees related to the chosen payment instrument, breaching the prohibition against surcharges. This enforcement action aims to protect consumer rights and ensure a single payment system free of discrimination between instruments.
