The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has launched the third season of its Digital Awareness Program, designed to enhance internet literacy among students. Building on previous years' experiences, the program is now more targeted, flexible, and interactive, continuing to be free for both educational institutions and students.
Initially started in early 2024, the program aims to empower young users to become more confident, critical, and aware of online risks, helping them make informed decisions. So far, over 7,500 students have benefited from the program's important messages.
Based on past experiences, the GVH has refined the program to promote effective knowledge dissemination through interactive and dialogue-focused sessions, moving away from traditional teaching methods. The goal is for students to recognize their daily online situations, ask questions, think critically, and identify digital risks that they can apply in their everyday lives.
The program covers several key topics, including personal data and digital footprints, manipulative advertising, misleading online offers, pitfalls of online shopping, smart and critical internet use, and the functioning of online platforms and their algorithms.
Schools, grades, and classes can join the program, primarily targeting the 10-16 age group. The GVH tailors the educational package not only to the students' age but also to the specific needs and suggestions of each school or class. Participation remains completely free for educational institutions and students.
Interested participants can register for the GVH Digital Awareness Program through a simple Google Forms application. More detailed information is available on the GVH website.
