The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) has entered into a cooperation memorandum with the Czech National Bank (ČNB). This agreement aims to establish a stable framework for professional dialogue, experience exchange, and further collaboration.
Both institutions will work together to monitor the structure and development of financial services markets and competition conditions. They will address issues such as access to payment systems and infrastructure, as well as the development of instant and digital payments. ÚOHS Chairman Petr Mlsna emphasized the need to respond to the dynamic evolution of financial markets.
Expert insights from the Czech National Bank will assist ÚOHS in evaluating sector inquiries, economic analyses, and conceptual materials, including consultations on methods, indicators, and available data sources. The memorandum specifies the format for data sharing between the two parties.
In the past, ÚOHS has signed memoranda with other regulators, such as the Czech Telecommunications Office. Collaboration with sector regulators aids ÚOHS experts in identifying market weaknesses and finding solutions more quickly.
