The CNMC has established a new arbitration regulation to address disputes between operators in sectors under its supervision, focusing on competition law.

The regulation outlines the arbitration procedure, including a streamlined process for simpler cases and feedback from public consultations.

Since its inception, the CNMC has handled 11 arbitrations, with two in the energy sector and nine related to the Telefónica/DTS case.

The CNMC's role in arbitration is defined by the Law of creation, allowing it to act as an arbitration body for economic operators and make decisions on arbitration matters.
