The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) jointly organized a regional training seminar in Yerevan, Armenia, from March 18-20, 2026. This event was part of their ongoing efforts to support competition law and policy in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, as well as Central Asia.

Approximately 50 professionals from around 20 countries participated in the seminar, with a significant representation from the Armenian competition authority. The event aimed to strengthen regional cooperation in competition policy.

The central theme of the training was the role of competition authorities in promoting economic growth and enhancing consumer welfare. Discussions highlighted various competition policy tools and powers that can foster innovation, improve market efficiency, and support development.

In addition to traditional competition enforcement tools, the seminar emphasized market research instruments and the advocacy activities of authorities. The Regional Competition Education Center (ROK), established in 2005, has organized over 160 events in its 20 years of operation, providing knowledge sharing and experience exchange opportunities for more than 6,000 experts.
