The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has authorized 1Circle Pty Ltd to facilitate collective procurement of renewable energy supplies for five buying groups over the next five years.

On 8 October 2025, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) granted authorisation to 1Circle Pty Ltd. This authorisation allows 1Circle and future members of five renewable energy buying groups to collectively procure renewable electricity supply contracts.

The contracts will include an equivalent quantity of large-scale generation certificates, which are essential for ensuring compliance with renewable energy targets. The ACCC believes that the collective procurement will lead to minimal public detriments, which are outweighed by the expected public benefits.

The authorisation is set to last until 30 October 2040, providing a long-term framework for these renewable energy initiatives. Further details can be found on the ACCC’s public register.
