The Latvian Competition Authority (KP) is organizing a series of free webinars aimed at educating business representatives about market dominance and the potential for its abuse. These webinars will take place online via the MS Teams platform from September 30 to October 3.
Participants will learn about the concept of market dominance, how the KP assesses market power, and what actions are considered as abuse of dominance. The series will conclude with training on the interaction between the regulation of abuse of dominance and competition neutrality regulations, highlighting how they can be distinguished.
The schedule for the webinars is as follows: On September 30, from 10:00 to 11:30, the topic will cover the theory of market dominance and its abuse. On October 1, the focus will shift to the principles of assessing market power in the context of dominance and market oversight. The third session on October 2 will discuss practices of abuse in Latvia and the European Union. Finally, on October 3, the webinars will address the interaction and distinction between Article 13 and Article 14.1 of the Competition Law concerning competition neutrality.
To participate, interested individuals must fill out a registration form available on the KP website under the Events section for each webinar. It is important to note that registration for each webinar must be completed separately and will close one hour before the start of the respective session.
