The fourth meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Zagreb, co-chaired by Croatian Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar and Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli.
The discussions centered on the further development of economic relations, industry, and energy, as well as strengthening business community connections and opening new opportunities for trade and investment.
During the session dedicated to enhancing economic cooperation, Branimira Kovačević, Deputy Chair of the Croatian Competition Authority, highlighted the established professional contacts between the Croatian authority and the Azerbaijani competition authority through participation in seminars and activities organized by the OECD Regional Centre and the Hungarian Competition Authority in Budapest, which recently celebrated 20 years of operation.
These meetings provided a valuable opportunity for exchanging views and experiences on current trends in competition law and policy, as well as strengthening ties between the two institutions.
Building on existing contacts, the Croatian Competition Authority welcomed the further development of bilateral cooperation with the Azerbaijani competition authority, including the potential preparation and signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement between the two bodies.
