Dr. Anke Johanns has been appointed as the new head of the Central Department at the Bundeskartellamt, effective December 1, 2025.

She will replace Hans-Helmut Schneider, who is moving on to become a new director at the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Johanns was responsible for coordinating digital initiatives and also served as the head of Internal Audit at the Bundeskartellamt.
