The Polish competition authority, UOKiK, has launched an educational initiative called 'ABC Małego Konsumenta' designed for children aged 4-6, parents, and educators. This project combines new technologies with traditional learning methods to engage young consumers in understanding their rights and responsibilities.

As part of the initiative, UOKiK offers free online games, card games, coloring pages, and other educational materials. These resources aim to teach children about consumer behavior, how to make informed purchases, and the importance of safety standards, such as the CE mark on toys.

UOKiK's spokesperson, Małgorzata Cieloch, emphasized the importance of educating young consumers, stating that even the youngest children participate in shopping and should be aware of their rights. The project includes interactive online games where children can role-play as detectives searching for CE-marked items and making thoughtful shopping choices.

Additionally, UOKiK provides ready-made lesson plans for educators, which align with preschool education standards. The initiative is supported by the ProPublika Foundation and aims to reach over 20,000 children across more than 750 preschools in Poland by 2025.

UOKiK encourages participation in this educational program, offering various free materials developed by experts and tested by children. Interested parties can access these resources online and join in promoting consumer education for the youngest.
