The Latvian Competition Authority (KP) is set to host a free webinar on March 20 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, aimed at food and agricultural producers and suppliers. This initiative is designed to educate participants about various aspects of trading practices and legal obligations in their business relationships.
During the webinar, representatives from the Competition Authority will discuss several key topics. They will outline the types of trading practices that are always prohibited in supplier and buyer collaborations. Additionally, they will clarify the conditions under which certain trading practices are permissible, provided there is a clear and unambiguous written agreement between the supplier and the buyer.
Furthermore, the webinar will cover the legal principles that must be adhered to in mutual cooperation between suppliers and buyers. The KP will also highlight the risks associated with unfair trading practices in these relationships, drawing insights from recent market monitoring conducted by the authority.
The session will be led by Sanita Uljane, head of the Unfair Trading Practices Prevention Department, along with senior experts Sintija Nagle and Svetlana Sitņikova. Interested participants are encouraged to register by April 19 by filling out an application form, after which they will receive a link to join the webinar.
