The Bundeskartellamt, Germany's competition authority, has announced fines amounting to around €10.5 million due to collusion among companies involved in road repair tenders. These violations were identified in December 2024 and April 2025.

The collusion involved agreements between companies regarding customer allocation and submission practices for public contracts related to road repairs. The affected tenders were primarily focused on simple construction methods for road repairs and the supply of bitumen emulsion and/or gravel.

This enforcement action highlights the authority's commitment to maintaining fair competition in the construction sector, particularly in public procurement processes across five eastern German states.
