The Polish competition authority has recently carried out a thorough inspection of ten different models of electric scooters. The inspection revealed that half of these models contained errors in their labeling, which could potentially lead to improper use of the scooters.
Inadequate or incorrect instructions can result in damage to the scooters or even accidents, raising significant safety concerns for users. The authority emphasizes the importance of proper labeling and instructions to ensure consumer safety.
Despite the labeling issues, all models passed the durability tests conducted in the laboratory, specifically focusing on the strength of the handlebars and the steering column. This indicates that while the scooters are structurally sound, the information provided to consumers needs to be improved.
Agnieszka Kowalska from the communication department of the Polish competition authority commented on the findings, highlighting the need for compliance with safety standards in the electric scooter market.
