Pichler, based on its regional focus, engaged in cartel conduct involving price agreements, market allocations, and information sharing with competitors in the construction sector in Styria from at least June 2013 to July 2016.
These actions were part of a nationwide violation affecting construction projects across Austria, aiming to reduce competition, secure contracts among participants, and maintain market share, particularly in road construction.
Pichler cooperated with the competition authority outside the leniency program, leading to a reduced fine request, and provided comprehensive information to clarify the situation before the Cartel Court.
The cartel uncovered in the construction industry involved agreements among companies to secure contracts, maintain market share, and ensure capacity utilization, including practices like price fixing, market allocation, and bid rigging.
