The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has announced the sixth provisional settlement for the electricity sector and the ninth for the gas sector for the year 2025. These reports reveal notable financial imbalances and trends in both sectors.

In the electricity sector, the provisional settlement indicates a temporary deviation of -1,076.52 million euros, with total revenues reported at 6,060.3 million euros against costs of 7,136.82 million euros. This resulted in a coverage coefficient of 82.36%, reflecting discrepancies between income and costs as outlined in the relevant legislation.

For the renewable energy, cogeneration, and waste sectors, the total settlement from January to June 2025 amounts to 2,313.89 million euros, with the majority funded by the electricity sector. The report also notes that payments to producers are set at 219.13 million euros.

In the gas sector, the ninth provisional settlement covers the period from October 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, reporting total liquid revenues of 1,518.75 million euros, which is 11.5% lower than the previous year. The demand for gas during this period has increased, with a total of 216.9 TWh billed, marking a rise from the previous year.
