On January 13, 2026, the Belgian competition authority received a notification concerning a merger under Article IV.10, §1 of the Economic Law Code. The merger involves the acquisition of exclusive control of Mississippi Holdco BV, owner of Jumbo supermarkets, over Jaguar Holdco BV, owner of HEMA department stores.

Currently, Jaguar Holdco BV is under joint control of Mississippi Holdco BV and Parcom Buy-Out Fund VI Cooperative U.A. The notification indicates that the merger pertains to sectors including retail of new goods, non-specialized retail, and retail where food and beverages are predominant.

The notifying party has requested the application of a simplified procedure as per Article IV.70, §1 of the Economic Law Code. The authority invites interested third parties to submit their comments regarding the proposed merger, preferably by January 20, 2026, via email referencing MEDE.CCS.26-0001.
