The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the OECD jointly organized a two-day judicial seminar at the Budapest Regional Competition Education Center (ROK) on January 19-20, 2026. This seminar aimed to provide judges with up-to-date knowledge on competition law enforcement, particularly regarding vertical agreements.

During the seminar, participants explored the economic foundations of restrictive vertical agreements and the methodologies for their evaluation. Special emphasis was placed on the analysis applicable to distribution networks and the unique characteristics of the digital space.

A total of 33 judges from 20 countries attended the event, receiving in-depth theoretical and practical insights from experts from the European Commission, OECD, and GVH, along with other distinguished professionals in the field.

The ROK was established in February 2005 to support competition authorities in Eastern and Southeastern Europe, as well as Central Asia, by organizing training and professional programs in competition law and policy.

In 2026, the Budapest education center plans to offer a full program, including newsletters, educational videos, and seven international seminars, with two additional judicial training sessions scheduled for the spring semester.
