The President of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) fined KIA Poland and its dealers for colluding on car prices and dividing the market, restricting buyers from purchasing KIA vehicles at competitive prices from their chosen dealers.

The businesses involved set prices for KIA cars, with the importer providing price lists and maximum discount information to distributors. KIA Polska monitored and enforced the illegal agreements, disciplining dealers who sold vehicles below the agreed prices.

Furthermore, KIA Poland and its distributors divided the market for vehicles offered to driving schools, limiting competitive offers to certain regions. The fines imposed totaled over 405 million PLN, with the highest penalty going to KIA Poland.
