The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has released new statistics indicating that the number of fixed broadband lines in Spain has reached 19.24 million as of July 2025. This includes a notable increase in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) lines, which grew by 80,237 to exceed 17.4 million.

In contrast, hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) lines saw a decrease of 22,612, and traditional DSL lines have been phased out due to the closure of copper central offices by Telefónica. Major players in the fixed broadband market, Movistar, Vodafone, and MASORANGE, collectively account for 82.1% of the total lines.

In the mobile sector, the total number of mobile lines reached 62.38 million, with 485,050 numbers ported in July, marking a 4.9% increase from the previous year. Movistar and DIGI reported positive net portability, while Vodafone, MASORANGE, and other mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) lost lines. Together, Movistar, Vodafone, and MASORANGE represent 86.4% of mobile lines.

Additionally, machine-to-machine (M2M) lines grew by 60.4% year-on-year, reaching 19.95 million. The fixed telephony sector also saw an increase, with 6,784 new lines added, totaling 17.59 million. The month ended with 4.42 million local NEBA lines and over 1 million FTTH NEBA lines.
