The Czech competition authority, ÚOHS, has granted approval for the ownership change of VEMEX Energie a.s., an energy trader, to SC Czech AIG, a company within the Energo Holding group. This decision was made through a simplified procedure and is now final.

Energo Holding operates through its subsidiaries in various sectors, including real estate leasing and management, development, and hospitality services such as restaurants and accommodations.

VEMEX Energie specializes in trading electricity and natural gas, purchasing these resources and selling them at both wholesale and retail levels exclusively within the Czech Republic.

In its assessment, ÚOHS focused on the wholesale and retail markets for electricity and natural gas. The authority concluded that the merger would not lead to significant competition concerns, thus allowing the ownership change to proceed.
