Karina Kučaidze-Wencel has been appointed as the Deputy Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Competition Council, effective January 15, 2026.

The Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Competition Council, Jolanta Ivanauskienė, has appointed Karina Kučaidze-Wencel as the new Deputy Chairwoman, effective January 15, 2026. This appointment recognizes Kučaidze-Wencel's education and professional experience in both Lithuania and the United Kingdom.

Jolanta Ivanauskienė praised Kučaidze-Wencel's significant contributions over the past four years, particularly in the areas of merger control and economic analysis. The Chairwoman expressed her satisfaction that Kučaidze-Wencel agreed to take on the additional responsibilities of Deputy Chair.

According to the Law on Competition, the head of the competition authority is responsible for appointing two Deputy Chairpersons. Currently, Irma Urmonaitė also serves as a Deputy Chair. Kučaidze-Wencel's appointment follows the completion of the term of former Deputy Chair Medeina Augustinavičienė.
