Susana Campuzano Fernández has been named the new Competition Director of the CNMC, following a public competition process emphasizing transparency and suitability for the role.

With a background in Economics and expertise in competition law, data analysis, and artificial intelligence, Campuzano has a long history in competition defense and promotion, including roles at the CNMC and the Ministry of Finance.

Under Campuzano's leadership, the Economic Intelligence Unit (UIE) has been instrumental in proactively identifying anticompetitive behaviors since 2020, utilizing innovative AI tools and specialized profiles for digital competition defense.

This strategic appointment ensures continuity and innovation in the CNMC's competition enforcement efforts, building upon the achievements of the outgoing director, Marisa Tierno.
