ACCC Grants Long-Term Approval for BP's Loyalty Program

28.01.2025 | Australian competition authority

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has re-authorised BP's Rewards Program, allowing it to continue offering fuel and non-fuel loyalty benefits, including new points for electric vehicle charging.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has officially re-authorised BP Australia to maintain its BP Rewards Program, which provides loyalty benefits for both fuel and non-fuel purchases at BP locations and participating resellers. This decision allows BP to continue rewarding its customers through this program.

In addition to the existing benefits, the ACCC has approved an expansion of the program to include points for electric vehicle charging purchases at participating BP pulse sites. This move aligns with the growing trend towards electric vehicles and aims to enhance customer engagement in this sector.

The ACCC has granted this authorisation until 20 February 2035, providing BP with a long-term framework to operate and expand its loyalty offerings. Further details regarding the application and the decision can be found on the ACCC’s public register.
