On October 1, 2025, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) approved the acquisition of a controlling interest in Brussels Airport Company by Participatiemaatschappij Vlaanderen (PMV). This acquisition will result in PMV sharing joint control of Brussels Airport Company with the existing controlling shareholder, Federale Participatie- en Investeringsmaatschappij.

The transaction was notified to the BCA on September 23, 2025, and the simplified procedure was requested. The Brussels Airport Company operates Brussels Airport, an international airport located in Zaventem, Belgium, and is involved in various activities including operational consultancy, software solutions, and commercial real estate management.

Participatiemaatschappij Vlaanderen is a Flemish investment company that provides capital, loans, and guarantees to support companies at different growth stages. Federale Participatie- en Investeringsmaatschappij is a federal investment holding company owned by the Belgian State, focusing on strategic investments for the economy.

The BCA concluded that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met and that the concentration did not raise any objections, allowing the transaction to proceed without further scrutiny.
